Thoughts

Aunt Joyce was a beautiful, hard working woman with a kind and generous spirit. She had a sharp wit and often still had a twinkle in her eye, even as her body grew weaker and she slowly departed from this world. I like to think of Dolly, Linda, me, and Aunt Joyce in her flat singing her favorite hymns, and watching the detective program "Columbo" or cheering at the horse racing on TV. Yet, my most vivid memories of Aunt Joyce are perhaps from her days at the Monty - dashing about, joking with customers, and having what seemed like a never-ending supply of radiance and energy. She was and will always be an inspiration to me. She will be dearly missed. I love you Aunt Joyce. May you rejoice in being reunited with Uncle Levi for all eternity. May you enjoy being among the angels. May your soul rest in peace.

Aunt Joyce was like a mother to me when I spent a year abroad at school in Essex (1986-87). I would visit her on school breaks and she always made sure that I had everything I needed (including money - of which she gave me far too much!). One of the hardest working women that I have ever known. She never took a break from the store or the nightclub. You will be missed Aunt Joyce. Always in our hearts, Paul Roberts
