Letter Read at Funeral Service to Sister Sylvia Roberts
Created by Suzanne 9 years ago
To Mrs. Sylvia Roberts:
Your Peoples Baptist Church family join me in extending sincere sympathy on the loss of your sister, Mrs. Joyce Knight. As your husband and Pastor, I know how much your sister meant to you. Your faithfulness in seeing that she received the best care available and your daily calls to the Nursing facility and to your cousin, Dolly speak volumes about your love for your sister.
I am sorry my schedule did not allow me to accompany you but you have three of our four children, Carolyn, Suzanne and Michael, present with you to give you support.
Death is an inescapable fact of life and we have to say goodbye to our loved ones when the time comes for them to move from time to eternity. But our faith in Jesus Christ assures us that the parting is temporary and we shall meet them on the other side if they die trusting in the Lord. The Psalmist in Psalm 116: 15 tells us, " Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
Your church family continues to pray for you and dozens of cards expressing their condolences are awaiting your return. Safe travel back to the United States.
With much love,
Your husband and pastor,
Rev. Wesley A. Roberts, Ph.D
